How much change to you have? Not the nickels, dimes and quarters in that glass jar or at the bottom of a purse. I mean the kind of change where something in your life goes a different direction usually with the change of circumstances.
Because I’ve had a lot of change in my life in the last few years, I was thinking about how much change there has been in my life. The changes in new schools, moving to different places, graduations, marriage, babies, parenting, grandparenting…
These for the most part are good things, and though life changing, are a positive in our lives.
What happens when the change in our lives isn’t so positive?
When I was diagnosed with MS there was a whole change of lifestyle.
A friend is diagnosed with cancer and their life is turned upside down with change.
When caring for an aging parent consumes most of your day.
The grief that comes in like a freight train when a loved one passes and the heart break that never really leaves.
We are constantly faced with change, big and small, good and bad.
As I was reading through the Gospels, the first 4 books of the New Testament in the Bible, I realized that Jesus experienced change in his life just like you and me. I mean just leaving heaven and coming to earth was a monumental change.
All the change Jesus experienced did not change Him. He cannot change who He is; He’s the same yesterday, today, forever. Knowing that he has dealt with human change and understands what we go through makes it easier for me to go to Him and lay the changing circumstances of my life at His feet.
This is such meaningful insight. Thank you for sharing your heart. 😀❤️

So true, God’s grace is needed on a daily basis to except the” change” which seems to be in accelerated mode these days for me as well.

Sometimes ‘negative’ changes can really bring us down or start us on a downward spiral. It seems those are the times when we need to reflect on how it has taken changes in our lives to help grow and even transform us for the better. As yo mentioned the changes Jesus experiences, I couldn’t help but think: Where would we be today if Jesus had not accepted the changes placed before him?
